What NetPayDesk is
NetPayDesk is a small independent site that builds free calculators for US workers: take-home pay after taxes, and weekly work hours. Every tool runs in your browser, needs no sign-up, and stores none of what you type.
Where our numbers come from
We do not make up tax rates. Every figure is taken from the official 2026 source and cited on the page that uses it:
| Figure | Source |
|---|---|
| Federal income tax brackets and standard deduction | IRS Revenue Procedure 2025-32 |
| Social Security wage base ($184,500) | Social Security Administration |
| Social Security (6.2%) and Medicare (1.45% + 0.9%) rates | IRS / SSA, set in federal law |
How we keep it current
US tax figures change every year. We review and update all rates each January, when the IRS and SSA publish the new year's numbers, and every calculator shows the tax year it uses and the date it was last reviewed. This page and each tool were last reviewed October 2026.
How the calculations work
Our paycheck tools subtract pre-tax deductions and the standard deduction from your pay, apply the federal brackets, then add Social Security and Medicare and divide by your number of paychecks. The time card tool totals each day's hours, removes unpaid breaks, and applies overtime over 40 hours a week. The full method is explained on each calculator.
An honest limit
These are estimates to help you plan, not official figures. Your real paycheck depends on your exact W-4, your employer's payroll system, local taxes and benefits we can't see. NetPayDesk is not a tax advisor — for decisions that matter, check your pay stub or speak to a tax professional.
